Wow!

My little slice of the internet tugged at the corner of my mind for the first time in a long time this evening as I browsed through a few of my favorite personal finance blogs- also for the first time in a long time. I was really amazed to see in numbers the strides I've made since I last updated my "Where the Money Stands" sidebar back in June 2016, just over 2 years ago:

As of June 1, 2016
Student Loans (Bank of Mom): $19,800
TOTAL DEBT: $19,800

General/Emergency Savings: $16,943.35
Checking Account: $2031.11
Cash: $52.00
Retirement 401(k): $24,702.61
TOTAL: $43,729.07
Net Worth: $23,929.07

As of October 2, 2018
Student Loans (Bank of Mom): $0
TOTAL DEBT: $(!!!)

General/Emergency Savings: $37,847.29
Checking Account: $500
Cash: $0
Retirement 401(k): $48,905.54
TOTAL/Net Worth: $87,252.83

Since I keep track of my finances very closely my net worth didn't surprise me, but I was really taken aback to see it compared to my net worth just two years ago. Holy cow! What awesome motivation to continue on this journey.
